EDUCATION

Jennifer graduated from Buckingham College with a BA (HONS) in Textile Design & Surface Decoration. Here she developed her interests in photography and print.

After graduating she set up a print room at home and produced fabric collections based on her observations of the natural and man-made landscapes.

Her interest in the textile industry led to her becoming the director of a successful soft furnishings and interior company based in Wiltshire and worked with prestigious clients such as the Fonthill Estate, Liz Earle and the Athenaeum and Travelers Clubs in Pall Mall, London.

TEACHING & WORKSHOPS

Jennifer has taught textiles for almost 20 years, a career that began at ‘Trowbridge College’ in 1998 and has been sharing her creative passion with both college students and private clients ever since.

She recently returned to teaching within a college setting after the birth of her first child, and is now Teaching A levels in a sixth form college as well as offering a wide range of art classes from her studio at The Court Street Gallery.

GALLERY DIRECTOR

Jennifer is a founder of The Court Street Gallery alongside glass artist and friend Alex Compton and her mother Marleen Hamblin. As Artistic director she curates the exhibition space, also helping to coordinate the creative workshop programme. The gallery has enabled her to become much more involved with like minded individuals within and around Trowbridge. Taking an active role in groups such as the ‘cultural leaders of Trowbridge’ and Cloth Road Arts allows her to be part of an emerging creative culture within her Hometown.

CURATING

Most recently this has led to a new role curating the visual arts programme at Trowbridge Town Hall. Town hall was built and given to the town for the benifit of the inhabitants. With this in mind the Jen curates to make visual art accessable to everyone.
