“My work combines the way natural forms intertwine with the structure of the man made".

The relationship between the two and how they conflict and harmonise. The juxtaposition between the vibrance of the materials used in a constructed landscape and the pallet of the natural world fascinates me. I am intrigued by shadows, light at different times of the day and the changing seasons. How reflected and blocked light interacts with colour and texture upon structures and the distorted interlocking forms created.

I observe the elements that age and change these surfaces and seek to illuminate the often-overlooked beauty within. My multi media approach draws on my textile background combining images screen printed onto a variety of surfaces, building up my drawings surfaces by layering dyes, paint and bleach techniques. Using a process designed for mass production I observe, document and produce ‘one off’ pieces of art piece of art mirrors the paradox often created between the natural and man made worlds.
